NV Wildcat Teams
Wildcat teams and the team members are part of the Wildcat Basketball Association (WBA) and affiliated with Road to Success. Overall direction for the WBA is provided by Mike Williams. WBA sponsors Wildcat teams at the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels. These teams participate in the Neuqua Sunday League as well as other tournaments throughout the area. Wildcat team selection is initiated in August with league tryout registration. In early September, there is a tryout by grade level organized by Mike Williams. Players skills are rated by the Neuqua High School girls basketball coaches during the tryout. Players are then placed on Wildcat teams based on skill level. Each tryout participant is subsequently contacted and notified as to team placement.
The WBA program is meant to be a "feeder" and developmental program into the Neuqua High School girls basketball program. Therefore, only players that live in District 204 within the Neuqua boundary can participate on Wildcat teams.
The program is financed by the participants. Funds collected are used for league fees, facilities usage, officials, tournament fees, insurance, supplies, and uniforms.
